More than 3,500 athletes from 93 countries will compete for 195 medals in 16 Olympic disciplines and six Paralympic sports against the backdrop of the beautiful Italian landscape. The big news of this edition? The Olympic debut of ski mountaineering.

The 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics will take place from 6 to 22 February 2026, involving the regions of Lombardy, Veneto and Trentino-Alto Adige.

They will be the most widespread Games ever, covering an area of 22,000 square kilometres.
